Phosphate
1 ml of CH Phosphate will raise 1 gallon (~3.8 liters) of saltwater ~.5 ppm. 1 ml in ~26 gallons will raise phosphate to .02 ppm .To find out the dosing take (Volume of water) x (desired ppm of nitrate) and then divide that by .5. Starting out we recommend doing a half dose, testing 24 hours later, and then adjusting the dose.
1 ml of CH Phosphate Concentrate will raise 1 gallon (~3.8 liters) of saltwater ~2.5 ppm. To find out the dosing take (Volume of water) x (desired ppm of nitrate) and then divide that by 2.5. Starting out we recommend doing a half dose, testing 24 hours later, and then adjusting the dose.
My Personal Phosphate Supplement is made from food grade Sodium Nitrate and sterilized RODI water.
Keeping the proper phosphate levels in your reef tank is essential to coral growth and maintaining coloration. Those who sit at zero or near zero nitrates must supplement when feeding and fish stock isn't enough.
We like to stay on the higher side of the nutrient scale and for our personal systems, we aim for .1-.15 phosphate and 20-25 nitrate. At these levels, we have seen our corals thrive.
*Important that no3 will not read on API test kits but will show up on various others such as Hanna / Salifert / Red Sea*
